William received his undergraduate and law degrees from Creighton University, graduating from its Law School in 1987. He was admitted to State Bar of Montana in October 1987, and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Montana, and is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. William also previously served as a Deputy County Attorney for Butte-Silver Bow, before joining, in October 1990, the law firm of Corette Pohlman & Kebe, where he was shareholder, until leaving in May 2004 to start this practice.
